We are equally committed to protecting the privacy of our members. Under federal law, we are required to give you this privacy notice. It describes our privacy policy and practices concerning the personal information we collect and disclose about our members. It also includes information about the parties who receive personal and sometimes nonpublic information from us as we conduct the business of the credit union. These practices are followed by the credit union and its affiliates, and therefore this notice will be applied to both.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU:
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
1. Information received from you on applications and other forms.
2. Information about your transactions with us or our affiliates.
3. Information received from consumer reporting agencies.
4. Information obtained when verifying information provided on applications or other forms. Information can be obtained from your past or present employers, or other institutions where financial transactions have been conducted.
We may disclose all information collected as described above, or as permitted by law.
PARTIES WHO RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM US:
We may disclose nonpublic personal information about you to the following types of third parties:
1. Financial service providers, such as insurance companies, mortgage service companies, and securities broker-dealers.
2. Non-financial companies, such as consumer reporting agencies, data processors,
check printers, financial statement publishers/mailers, retailers, plastic card processors, direct marketers, non-profit organizations and government agencies.
BASE Federal Credit Union and its affiliates may also work closely to offer products and services to meet our members' needs. As a result, we may also share your non-public personal information with each other as permitted by law.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION TO PARTIES THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO US:
In order for us to conduct the business of the credit union, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions we have joint marketing agreements with so that we may provide members competitive products and services that will meet financial goals. We may also disclose non-public personal information about you under circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, or protect the security of our financial records.
To protect our member's privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the usage of information we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell the information we provide to other third parties.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION:
Non-public personal information about you is restricted to those employees who need to know that information to provide you with the various products and services offered. Federal regulations require us to maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that protect your nonpublic personal information.
WHAT MEMBERS CAN DO TO HELP:
BASE Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of its members. By following the guidelines below, members can help protect their personal information.
- Protect your account numbers, plastic card numbers, personal identification numbers (PIN) and passwords as if they were cash. Never keep PIN or passwords with your plastic cards that will provide others with account access if they are stolen.
- Be cautious when disclosing account numbers, social security numbers or other information to others. If someone calls you, explains the call is on behalf of the credit union and asks for your account number, you should be alarmed. Official credit union staff has access to your personal information and need not ask for it.
- BASE Federal Credit Union will not release our ABA routing number to anyone that is not a member of the credit union. Be extremely cautious who you give the ABA routing number to. Once you give this number to a company, they have access to your account. You must resolve any problems that may occur, directly with that company.
- By keeping your information current with us, we will be able to reach you immediately if suspicious or unauthorized activity is detected on your account. If your address or phone number changes, please advise us immediately.
- Employees may require members to show identification or provide other information in order to determine authorized transactions on accounts.
