BASE On-Line and Bill Payer Agreement and Disclosure
You agree that any information or disclosures or notices supplemental to or under this Agreement or by law or regulation or any amendments to this Agreement may be sent to you by electronic communication, including by e-mail to you or by posting on BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION S website. By using BASE On-Line or Bill Payer you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this Online Access Agreement. BASE On-Line or Bill Payer is used to access information and to perform transactions on accounts held at BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. These accounts are governed by the Membership and Account Agreement that was provided to you when the account(s) were opened. The terms we , us , our , and credit union refer to BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. The terms you and your(s) refer to each owner of an account. The term BASE On-Line refers to Online access and Bill Payer. The term Payee refers to anyone, including BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, you designate and BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION accepts as a payee. The term business day means every day except Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal Holidays. You may use BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION S bill paying service, BASE Bill Payer to make payments from your designated checking account to the Payees you choose in accordance with this agreement. The terms and conditions of this agreement are in addition to the Account agreements, disclosures and other documents in effect from time to time governing your account.
The first time you access any of your accounts through BASE On-Line confirms your understanding and agreement to this Online Access and acknowledges your receipt of this disclosure.
BASE On-Line Password
When you initially sign up for BASE On-Line you will be assigned a temporary password that will enable you to access your account information through the BASE On-Line service. We recommend that you change your password. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and other account data. We are entitled to act on instructions received under your password. You agree to keep your account information and password secure and strictly confidential. You agree to immediately notify us if you believe your password or account number has been obtained by an unauthorized person and you agree to change your password immediately. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right to cancel any person s access to BASE On-Line if it believes the security of a person s account information and access has been breeched. You may cancel your access to BASE On-Line by contacting a member service representative at 219-738-3249.
If you give someone your account number and password, you are authorizing that person to use the service and you are responsible for all transactions that person performs using the service. All transactions that person performs, including transactions you did not intend or want performed, are authorized transactions. You agree to assume responsibility for all transactions through BASE On-Line with your BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION account number and password, up to the limits allowed by the applicable law. Transactions that you or someone acting with you initiates with fraudulent intent are also authorized transactions.
Change to Terms, Fees, or Charges
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right to change charges, fees and other terms in this Online Access Agreement. You will be provided with advice of the change unless an immediate change is necessary to maintain the security of the system. You may accept or decline the change by continuing or discontinuing the applicable service.
Negligence
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION will not be responsible for member errors or negligent use of the BASE On-Line service and will not be responsible for losses due to the following:
Input errors or misuse of the BASE On-Line service Negligent handling or sharing of passwords leading to unauthorized access to your accounts Failure to safeguard your computer during an online home banking session Failure to report known instances of unauthorized account access immediately.
Accessing BASE Bill Payer
When you complete your bill paying enrollment form, you will select a USER I.D. and Personal Identification Number (PIN). BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION will make every effort to accommodate your request. Each time you access the Service, you will be asked to enter your USER ID AND PIN. Correct responses will give you access to the Service.
How to set up Payees/Payments
Complete a bill paying enrollment form. If you want to add a new payee, use SET UP ACCOUNTS/PAYEE on the internet or speak to a service representative. You may add a new fixed payment to a Payee, only if the Payee is on your authorized list of payees, and by accessing the Service and entering the appropriate information. Most other additions, deletions, or changes can be made in writing or by using the Service. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right to refuse the designation of a Payee for any reason. You may pay almost any payee you wish. There are several restrictions: 1) The merchant must be located in the United States; 2) Payments may not be remitted to tax authorities or government and collection agencies; 3) Payments may not be remitted to security companies such as Ameritrade for stock purchases or trade taxing authorities and 4) Court directed payments are unauthorized (Alimony, child support, or other legal debts). Don t forget you can use this system to send payments to your son/daughter in college, pay your local orthodontist, credit cards, charitable donations, etc. A merchant is defined as anybody (company or individual) to whom you want to send money.
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not responsible if a Bill Payment can not be made due to incomplete, incorrect, or outdated information provided by you regarding a Payee or if you attempt to pay a Payee that is not on your Authorized Payee list.
The Bill Paying Process
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION will process variable payments on the business day (generally Monday through Friday, except holidays) you designate the bill to be processed, provided the payment request is received prior to the cut-off time set by BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION which is currently 4:00 p.m. EST. Variable bill requests received after the business day cut off time or at any time on a non-business day will be processed on the next business day. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right to change the cut-off time by giving you notice if it changes.
FOR RECURRING PAYMENT REQUESTS, IF YOU DESIGNATE A PROCESSING DATE OF THE 28TH THROUGH THE 31ST OF A MONTH AND THIS DATE FALLS IN A SHORT MONTH, PROCESSING WILL BE INITIATED ON THE FIRST BUSINESS CALENDAR DAY OF THE MONTH FOLLOWING THAT DATE. Otherwise, recurring payment requests will be processed on the dates you have designated, unless such date falls on a non-business day resulting in your payment being processed on the next business day.
YOU MUST ALLOW AT LEAST FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS, PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE. FOR EACH BILL PAYMENT (RECURRING OR VARIABLE) TO REACH THE PAYEE. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SCHEDULE/ACTIVATE RECURRING PAYMENTS. IT IS OUR RECOMMENDATION THAT ADDITIONAL DAYS BE ALLOWED FOR PAYMENTS TRAVELING MORE THAN 4 STATES AWAY.
You have agreed to have available and collected funds on deposit in the account you designate in amounts sufficient to pay for all Bill Payments requested, as well as, any other payment obligations you have to BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right, without liability, to reject or reverse a Bill Payment if you fail to comply with this requirement or any other terms of this agreement. If you do not have sufficient funds in the Account and BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has not exercised its right to reverse or reject a Bill Payment, you agree to pay for such payment obligations on demand. You further agree that BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, at its option, may charge any of your accounts with BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION to cover such payment obligations.
Any Bill Payment can be changed or canceled, provided you access the Service prior to the cut-off time on the business day prior to the business day the Bill Payment is going to be initiated.
Liablility
You are solely responsible for controlling the safekeeping of and access to, your Password/Personal Identification Number (PIN). You are liable for all transactions you make or that you authorize another person to make even if that person exceeds his or her authority. If you want to terminate another person s authority, you must notify BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION and arrange to change your Password/PIN. You will be responsible for any Bill Payment request you make that contains an error or is a duplicate of another Bill Payment. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not responsible for a Bill Payment that is not made if you did not properly follow the instructions for making a Bill Payment. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not liable for any failure to make a Bill Payment if you fail to promptly notify BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION after you learn that you have not received credit from a Payee for a Bill Payment. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not responsible for your acts or omissions or those of any other person, including, without limitation, any transmission or communications facility, and no such party shall be deemed to be BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION S agent. In any event, BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION will not be liable for any special, consequential, incidental, or punitive losses, damages, or expenses in connection with this Agreement or the Service, even if BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has knowledge of the possibility of them. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not liable for any act, failure to act or delay in acting if it is caused, in whole or in part, by any cause beyond BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION S reasonable control.
Amendment and Termination
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has the right to change this Agreement at any time by notice mailed to you at the last address shown for the Account on BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION S records, by posting notice at BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION, or as otherwise permitted by law.
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has the right to terminate this Agreement at any time. You may terminate this Agreement by written notice to BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is not responsible for any fixed payment made before BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has a reasonable opportunity to act on your termination notice. You remain obligated for any payments made by BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION on your behalf.
Bill Payer is free with unlimited transactions.
Additional charges for member requested services and other items
These charges will only be assessed if you request one or more of the services listed here. There will be NO charge for any item if necessary to correct a BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION error.
Written Correspondence to Payee $15.00
Per proof of Payment not necessitated by a dispute $15.00
Payments returned due to customer error $10.00
Non sufficient funds fee $30.00
BASE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION reserves the right to charge you for research time involving payments no longer available in your screen history. You will be informed of any such charges before they are incurred.
Bill payments are processed by Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT). Please see the disclosure statement included, or received when you opened your account.
